In the world of business, I began as a personal fitness trainer, making just over $16 an hour. Personally, I don’t use this title because my primary focus is on a rare form of an Indonesian-Thai and American art, wherein I have attained the rank of “Guru-Kru.” Guru means teacher Kru means teacher and master. Today, after many years practicing Chinese martial arts, including tai chi chuan, many people consider me a “sifu” or master. In martial arts, I was the first American to win a gold medal in a kung fu world championship, in Beijing, China, beating the Chinese at their own game.

I wasn’t very good in the beginning, but with a lot of time practicing and using visualization, I became a national champion. In college, I could have competed in either sport, but chose wrestling. In the sports arena, I was a champion swimmer and wrestler. As I often tell people, “The divine is in the details.” What I Have Done with Theatre of the Mindīefore I tell you more, a little recap about what I’ve accomplished in my life, so you can see that the methods I teach are effective, straight-across-the-board, in any area of your life. To truly get the most out of the material, it is helpful to have someone you can communicate with who will give you the details. This is why having a back-up plan and a coach comes in handy. There’s only so much time and so many pages you can write before the publisher says, “That’s enough.”
